Marco Antonio Solis Gomez, a seasoned finance professional with over 30 years of experience as a Head of Finance, Director of Finance, and Controller, has consistently demonstrated his commitment to driving growth and profitability in various industries. Marco has excelled in various industries, including Chemicals, Water, Energy, and the Maquiladora sector. Marco has built a successful career marked by achievements in strategic planning, ERP implementations, and team leadership. Throughout his career, Marco has consistently demonstrated a commitment to excellence, financial acumen, and the ability to lead organizations to success through strategic financial management. Proficient in both English and Spanish, Marco possesses a robust skill set, including a strategic mindset, results orientation, and expertise in developing cost-saving plans. In his current role as Finance Director and Head of Finance at Gurit Mexico, Marco oversees the financial aspects of two companies. His achievements include restructuring the finance area, leading VAT recovery efforts, and implementing processes to reduce inventories while controlling cash flow. invoicing, accounts receivable, import and export, IMMEX program, VAT Certification, Legal department, accounts payable, and general accounting.
Prior to Gurit Mexico, in Terex Genie Mexico Marco oversaw financial operations, including invoicing, accounts receivable, import & Export, IMMEX program, VAT Certification; Legal department, accounts payable, and general accounting. Notably, he successfully implemented Oracle ERP, established procedures and policies, and initiated cost-saving programs, contributing to the company’s growth trajectory.
Prior to Terex Genie Mexico, Marco served as Finance Director and Plant Controller at Oshkosh Equipment Manufacturing from November 2014 to January 2021. Here, he played a pivotal role in starting a company from Greenfield, managing a budget of $100 million, and implementing JD Edwards ERP. His leadership resulted in significant cost savings, exceeding 10% annually, and the recovery of over $250 million in reimbursed VAT.
In the period between January 2012 and October 2014, Marco held the position of Associate Director at Baboon, focusing on finance and operations. During his tenure, he successfully created a trade company, established policies and procedures, and led teams to achieve a substantial revenue growth of approximately MXN 100 million.
From October 2000 to November 2011, Marco served as Finance Director at Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, witnessing remarkable growth from a small company with 18 employees and $5 million pesos in sales to over 500 employees and sales exceeding $1,300 million pesos annually. He implemented ERP systems and directed teams to achieve annual savings targets.
In his earlier career, Marco held key roles, including Controller at US Filter de México, where he implemented ERP (JD Edwards) across acquired companies, and General Accountant at Blue Bell México, where he initiated operations from scratch, developing charts of accounts and implementing policies.
Starting his professional journey as an Accounting Supervisor at Henkel Mexicana, Marco implemented budgetary controls and streamlined accounts payable processes, showcasing his commitment to efficiency and financial discipline.
